The Executive Committee for the celebrations of 150 years of Italian immigration in Rio Grande do Sul presented the commemorative brand of Bento Gonçalves.

The stamp has a design that conveys the essence of the historic date and the colors of Brazil and Italy converge along the path, demonstrating this connection between the countries. At the same time, the brand presents the Pipa Pórtico as a symbol that welcomes everyone.

The stamp will be used in various activities and events related to the celebrations. It symbolizes the historical importance of this Italian legacy and the union between the institutions involved in its production.

The group is also working on a calendar of activities. Cultural events, exhibitions, shows, gastronomic festivals and other activities that highlight the Italian influence in the city are planned. Bento em Vindima, which will take place from January 11 to March 23, is the first event to bear the brand.

“The Commission continues to work to create a calendar of events that is integrated with the state’s, while also showcasing our characteristics. We have a diverse group that can contribute a lot to this celebration of 150 years of immigration. Our seal was the first act we created together to mark this period in history,” said the Secretary of Tourism, Evandro Soares.

The seal was created by the Tourism Department and the Social Communications Advisory Office of the City Hall.

Italian immigration began in Rio Grande do Sul in 20 May 1875.
