The city of Verona, in northern Italy, has announced the start of a project that allows visitors to visit municipal museums for 1 euro (R$6,09), on the first Sunday of each month.
According to a statement on the initiative's official website, on February 2nd the promotion will be valid for seven institutions: Achille Forti Modern Art Gallery; Roman Theatre Archaeological Museum; GB Fresco Museum
Cavalcaselle and Juliet's Tomb; Castelvecchio Museum; Natural History Museum; Lapidario Maffeiano Museum and Torre dei Lamberti.
The affordable itinerary allows you to admire emblematic Italian works from the 19th and early 20th centuries (Achille Forti Modern Art Gallery); visit “Juliet’s tomb”, a red marble sarcophagus located in the former convent of San Francesco al Corso, whose 16th-century legend mentions the burial of two lovers; or even appreciate the rich collection of the Natural History Museum, which is divided into botany, geology, paleontology, prehistory and zoology.
Juliet's House, one of the most visited places by tourists in Verona because it refers to the famous story of “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare, is not part of the project.
