A New Zealand tourist residing in London, United Kingdom, was fined 500 euros (R$ 3) for bathing in the Trevi Fountain, one of the most famous monuments in Rome, the capital of Italy.

The episode occurred in the early hours of Saturday (22) to Sunday (23), when the municipal police caught three men trying to access the source with more than 260 years of history.

Officers managed to stop two of them from entering the water, but a 30-year-old man managed to partially bathe.

In addition to the fine, the New Zealander was banned from approaching the Trevi Fountain, a monument inaugurated in 1762.

In addition to attracting millions of visitors every year, the fountain has been the setting for countless films, such as “La Dolce Vita” by Federico Fellini, with the classic scene of Anita Ekberg and Marcello Mastroianni bathing there. (HANDLE)
