The governor of Rio de Janeiro, Wilson Witzel, met this Monday (11) with a group of Italian companies to discuss investment possibilities. The meeting, which took place at the consulate headquarters, brought together 16 companies: Alitalia, Ecorodovias, Enel, Fincantieri, Galberti do Brasil, Generali do Brasil, GI Group, Leonardo, Pietrofiorentini, Saipem, Salini Impregilo, Sices, Terna, Ternium, Telespazio and Tim Brasil, as well as representatives of the Italian-Brazilian Chamber.
According to Paolo Miraglia del Giudice, the Italian consul general in Rio de Janeiro, the companies “appreciated” this first contact for new investments in the areas of infrastructure, airport logistics, security, agribusiness and energy.
At the meeting, the governor of Rio also expressed interest in visiting Italy in the coming months to deepen collaboration and get to know Veneto, the region where his paternal grandmother was born. “I hope this is the beginning of great partnerships with a people with whom we have a deep connection, given that Brazil is the country with the largest number of Italian descendants in the world,” said Witzel.
