On December 16th and 23rd, a themed train will depart from Rome towards the Italian cities of Perugia and Arezzo, focusing on chocolate lovers. The trip coincides with Eurochocolate, a festival dedicated to the sweet treat, and includes onboard tastings and stops in historic Umbria towns.
Baptized “Espresso Assisi: Chocolate EditionThe project was launched by the state-owned Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane (FS). The train departs from Roma Termini station at 8:30 AM, arriving in Arezzo at 12:10 PM. The return trip is scheduled for 17:30 PM, arriving in the capital at 22:42 PM.
A journey filled with flavor and tradition.
The itinerary includes stops in Terni, Spoleto, Foligno, Spello, and Assisi. The main destination is Perugia, where the event takes place. Eurochocolate, a festival that transforms streets and squares into showcases of chocolates, truffles, and artisanal cocoa products.
During the journey, passengers can enjoy a selection of handmade chocolates and candies. The onboard service also offers options such as single and double cabins, sleeper cars for groups, and standard seating.
Tickets and discounts
Tickets start at 35 euros. Those who buy in advance will receive a 25% discount. The offer combines railway tourism, regional gastronomy, and cultural events focused on Italian confectionery.
