The Consul General of Italy in Rio, Paolo Miraglia Del Giudice and State Secretary of Education Alexandre Valle signed, on Thursday (4), an agreement to promote the Italian language, culture and art among high school students in the state education network.
Since 2020, the teaching of the Italian language in the state public school system has been taking place at the Rodrigo Otávio Filho State School in Vaz Lobo, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. Valle said that promoting Italian in schools makes a difference in the professional lives of young people.
For consul Paolo Del Giudice, the agreement is a milestone in the collaboration between Italy and the state government in the field of education and culture.
According to the signed document, it is up to the Seeduc maintain the Italian language course in high school, within the student's time at school, in addition to planning, managing and evaluating the activities carried out at the school unit.
The consulate will assist in the implementation of the Brazil-Italy Intercultural School, with intercultural teaching of Italian with an emphasis on art and culture. To this end, it will promote lectures, cultural competitions, events, educational fairs and similar activities for students and teachers, in addition to donating high school teaching materials necessary for the teaching and learning process of Italian.
