Italian trio Il Volo goes live to raise funds against Covid-19
Il Volo and D&G come together to raise funds against the new coronavirus
The Italian trio Il Volo was invited to contribute to the new digital campaign by the fashion house Dolce&Gabbana aimed at raising funds to support the Humanitas University, in Milan, in the study that aims to find a solution to eradicate the new coronavirus (Sars-CoV-2).
As a result, since Tuesday (12), the tenors will perform live singing their main hits, directly from their homes, on the Italian brand's official Instagram account. “We are happy to put our voices at the service of a project, in accordance with the times we are facing.
#DGFattoInCasa by Dolce & Gabbana highlights the importance of all work and, in particular, of all doctors and researchers committed to helping us get out of this health emergency”, said Piero Barone, Gianluca Ginoble and Ignazio Boschetto.
Songs that represent Italy
According to the singers, they will perform the hits "Great love", "O sole mio"and "Nessun Dorma“. “We chose to sing three songs that represent us, our beloved country and the beauty it can spread throughout the world,” they added.
The initiative is part of the project called “DG Fatto in Casa”, which brings together artists and friends of Dolce & Gabbana to participate in a series of workshops directly from their own homes, on video. The idea is to share skills and suggestions that demonstrate the rediscovery of the value of being at home and the excellence of “Made in Italy”.
The campaign supports research led by oncologist and immunologist professor Alberto Mantovani, who seeks “diagnostic and therapeutic interventions” through analyzes of the responses of the body's natural defenses to Covid-19.
