The 36th Festival of the Italian Agricultural Colony of Quiririm will take place between April 30th and May 4th, in Taubaté, in the interior of São Paulo. With the theme “The importance of all peoples in Brazilian culture”, the event aims to value the diversity of influences in the formation of the country.
The festival, recognized as the third most visited in the State, will have shows by artists such as Tony Angeli, The Three Brazilian Tenors e Fred Rovella. There will also be tarantella performances, a typical Italian dance, with groups formed by residents of the district.
Around 20 stalls run by descendants of Italian immigrants will be set up on the streets of Quiririm. They will serve traditional dishes such as lasagna, gnocchi and marubim, a sweet made with flour dough filled with dulce de leche.
The organizers expect to produce 13 tons of pasta and sauces, as well as 40 typical Italian sweets. They estimate that 10 liters of wine and 8 liters of draft beer will be consumed.
