Italy took first and last place in the ranking of the 50 most beautiful beaches in the world in 2025, drawn up by the website The World's 50 Best Beaches.
Cala Goloritzè, located in the province of Ogliastra, Sardinia, was elected the most beautiful beach in the world, standing out for its “wild beauty”.
The beach is only accessible on foot, via a trail, or by sea, by swimming, with boats anchored 200 meters from the coast. According to the organizers, the place has “the power to move at first sight” and stands out for its 143-meter limestone pinnacle, which resembles a cathedral.
At the other end of the list, in 50th place, is The Hairy, in Stintino, also in Sardinia. Known for its shallow turquoise waters, the beach is often compared to tropical destinations, despite being located in the Mediterranean.
La Pelosa is protected by a shallow bay, which makes its waters calm and ideal for swimming and relaxing.
Its location overlooks the iconic 16th-century Torre della Pelosa and the small island of Piana, contributing to its unique charm.
