One of the most traditional celebrations in the interior of São Paulo reaches its 38th edition this Saturday (23). A Italian Festival of Jundiaí It takes place in José Orlandi Square, in the Colônia neighborhood, organized by the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish and driven by dozens of volunteers. The program continues until June 14th., with typical cuisine, live music and the family-friendly atmosphere that has made the event a fixture on the city's official calendar.
The festival was born in 1988. It was created to celebrate the centenary of Italian immigration to Jundiaí and hasn't stopped since. Today it attracts visitors from all over the state.
What to eat
The stalls offer typical Italian-Brazilian dishes: pasta, gnocchi, risotto, lasagna, fried chicken, polenta, cake and the traditional crustuliThe combination brings together recipes that have been passed down through generations since the arrival of the first Italian immigrants to the region.
The music
The shows will be performed by the groups Finestra del Cuore, I Cantanti Italiani, and Sergio De Rosa, who will perform on alternate days throughout the weekends.
