The Consortium for the Protection of Grana Padano, during the Easter holidays, will be even closer to Italian families in difficulty due to the economic emergency generated by the pandemic.
130 thousand kilos of cheese Grana Padano DOP, with a cost equivalent to approximately R$5,4 million, will be delivered to a network of non-profit organizations, which will distribute it to the neediest families, according to the newspaper La Repubblica.
Grana Padano is the most consumed PDO cheese in the world.
This is not the first time that the Consortium for the protection of Grana Padano has mobilized in support of the Covid-19 emergency.
Last year the consortium donated one million euros to purchase of medical equipment necessary to combat the virus.
