Abruzzo Police Discover Italian Citizenship Fraud: 9 Brazilians Involved

The Avezzano police, in AbruzzoPolice dismantled a fraudulent scheme related to the recognition of Italian citizenship, involving nine Brazilians. The group is accused of offering processes in exchange for 4.000 euros, using falsified documentation.

Prosecutor Luigi Sgambati has requested legal action against ten individuals, including BHZ, 43, a Polish national, as well as Brazilians VTC (59), AMP (68), AP (44), AP (69), FLZCL (43), WPVA (26), MPS (33), NSB (31) and FLCL (43). Of these, three suspects are in an unknown location, while the others reside in the Marsica region.

Investigations showed that the group organized the transportation and stay of Brazilians in the cities of Avezzano, Capistrello, Civita D'Antino, Civitella Roveto and Morino, with false residences, and, in some cases, forged the Italian ancestry of those involved, using certificates of false Italian grandparents, according to the The messenger.

Between 2018 and 2020, the scheme allowed immigrants to enter and legalize their status using documents that guaranteed their status as descendants of Italians. Authorities are continuing to investigate the case.
