The competition brings together more than a thousand mothers from all over Italy. Final takes place this Sunday
Every year it's like this: hundreds of mothers from all over Italy register to take part in a national competition. It's Miss Mamma Italiana 2019, a contest that leaves beauty in the background to choose the mother who has the most charisma and, of course, who has all the attributes of a great mother.
This year, the competition – which is in its 26th edition – brought together more than a thousand candidates aged between 25 and 45 years old.
To be elected, they must pass skill tests such as singing, dancing, presenting a gastronomic recipe, singing a lullaby and participating in other creative and sporting events.

The national final takes place this Sunday (23), starting at 21:30 pm, in Gatteo Mar, a tourist resort in Emilia-Romagna.
According to Paolo Teti, creator of the contest, “Miss Mamma Italiana was born to reinforce the figure of women, and in particular that of mothers, not for aesthetic reasons, but also to enhance the personality and maternal identity of the country”.
