Salvatore Tortora, confectioner from San Paolo Bel Sito (Nápoles), with his panettone he won first place in the “Panettone World Cup“, held in Lugano (Switzerland).
The event took place between November 5th and 7th, 2021. Tortora, who is a pastry chef at Neapolitan Espresso, won the competition among colleagues from Italy, Switzerland, Spain, the United States and France.

the end of the Panettone World Cup There were 24 finalists, who were judged by a high-level jury, made up of: Massimo Ferrante (Italy, president of the winning jury of the 2019 panettone cup); Paco Torreblanca (Spain, among the best European confectioners), Massimo Turuani (Switzerland, president of Società Mastri Panettieri Pasticcieri Confettieri), Jimmy Griffin (Ireland, master baker), Fabrizio Galla (Italy), Deborah Massari (Italy, food technologist), David Malizia (Italy), Gianbattista Montanari (Italy, specialist in panettone), Frank Dépéries (France), Bruno Buletti (Switzerland, specialist in panettone), victorio santoro (Italy) and Robert Rinaldini (Italy).
The jury, after work that lasted three days, issued its verdict decreeing an all-tricolor podium, with Salvatore Tortora in the highest place on the podium, followed by Fiorenzo Ascolese, from Salerno, and from Massimiliano Lunardi, from Pistoia.
