According to the RaiNews portal, a 50-year-old woman of Polish origin was stabbed to death inside her own home in Colleferro, in the province of Rome, on Via Cristoforo Colombo. The alarm was raised around 15:30 PM (Italian time) when her daughter returned home and called 112. Despite the rapid arrival of paramedics and attempts at resuscitation, the woman died at the scene due to her injuries.
A short distance from the residence, security forces arrested the victim's husband, a 69-year-old Tunisian man who has lived in Italy for about 20 years. According to an initial reconstruction, he is believed to have stabbed his wife. The man, who has five children, admitted to the crime when speaking to the police: "I killed my wife." One of the children reportedly witnessed the crime.
The detainee was taken to the Colleferro police station, and his situation is being assessed by investigators. A prosecutor from the Velletri Prosecutor's Office, headed by prosecutor Carlo Villani, also went to the scene. Investigations are ongoing to accurately reconstruct the sequence of events.
