According to the RaiNews portal, a 43-year-old man, Dino Keber, killed his ex-partner, Tania Terrin, 39, at her home in Camponogara, in the province of Venice, and then took his own life. The bodies were found on the evening of Sunday, August 16. The woman is believed to have been asphyxiated inside the residence. Keber reportedly returned to his home in Dolo, where he hanged himself. Investigators are keeping the details of the events confidential.
The incident occurred in Riviera del Brenta, an area of small towns in the Veneto region of northeastern Italy. Carabinieri from the local station and the investigative sector are reconstructing the couple's last hours, checking times and the man's movements. The exact causes and times of the two deaths will still be determined by forensic medical examinations.
The two had previously been in a relationship, and the woman reported her ex-partner after the breakup. He received an official warning from the Venice police chief and a restraining order. According to the newspaper Il Gazzettino, Keber was the one who took Terrin to the emergency room after assaulting her until she fainted, a detail not mentioned in the complaint. The victim's mother reported years of abuse and suicide threats.
