With the presence of major brands and the spotlight on women's fashion, the 2025 edition of Milan Fashion Week, in Italy, began last Tuesday (25) and will last until March 3.

The new trends that will be presented on the catwalk in the capital of the Lombardy region will be distributed across 56 physical fashion shows, six digital ones, 23 events and 65 presentations.

Milan Fashion Week will also bring farewells and new arrivals to the public. Gucci, for example, will part ways with creative director Sabato de Sarno, while Fendi, K-Way and Dsquared 2 will celebrate their 100th, 60th and 30th anniversaries, respectively.

Finally, Fiorucci will return to the catwalk with its fall winter 2025/2026 collection.

The public will also be able to watch the debuts of David Koma and Lorenzo Serafini as creative directors of Blumarine and Alberta Ferreti, respectively.

“Fashion is not just style and image: it is industry, economy and work. Lombardy is the beating heart of this sector, with more than 28 companies and a turnover of over 26 billion euros.

Milan alone has more than 11.000 companies and produces 15,6% of the total value of fashion in Italy,” said Barbara Mazzali, Secretary of Tourism, Territorial Marketing and Fashion for Lombardy.

 The opening parade of the Gucci was marked by silence regarding the new creative director of the Italian brand. The brand's CEO, Stefano Cantino, analyzed that the current situation of the fashion house is absolutely normal.

“There is this kind of soap opera about designers and CEOs in fashion. It’s like in every other industry. Even football players change teams and countries, and no one notices. There is a brand with two ‘cc’s’ that has been without a designer for seasons, so it’s all normal.

We work for the good of the brand, the rest seems like fantasy political speculation,” said the Italian. (HANDLE)
