A Italian Vinhedense Association (Aivi) is celebrating 119 years and one of the festivities to celebrate the date was the reopening of the Immigrant Memorial, last Friday (25).

“The Italian colony brought fruit growing to the region and contributed greatly to the creation of the municipality of Vineyard”, highlighted Mayor Dario Pacheco.
The Memorial was named after one of the most prominent presidents of the association, Tuto Gasparini. The place underwent renovations and now houses the Tourist Information Center, with traveling exhibitions, and the Tourism Board.
Italian Vinhedense Association
Aivi was founded on June 25, 1902 to assist, through mutual collaboration, Italians in need of medical and hospital assistance, expensive and inaccessible at the time.
Those interested in joining must prove their Italian origin, be residents of Vinhedo or be related to a member. To consult the necessary documents, candidates must contact the association.
The group's objective is to maintain coexistence between descendants of Italians and their origins, through common activities, including future annual tours to Italy, with special discounts for members.
