According to 42% of Italians, round is the food that makes them happiest. Folders are in second place
The dish that is the epitome of Italy is also the meal that makes Italians happiest. The revelation comes from research carried out by BVA Doxa, a company that analyzes the Italian market.
According to the study, for 42% of Italians interviewed, pizza is the dish that makes them happiest. The number is even higher for women: 47%. For residents of the South, the round is sacred: 60% of those interviewed between 25 and 34 prefer pizza. Unsurprisingly, the queen is Margherita.
Pasta (pasta, for Brazilians) came in second place, with 33% of respondents. Grilled meat and fish are liked by 30%.
Next comes gelatos (ice cream), cheeses and salami.
Pizza at home
Another interesting fact researched by BVA Doxa is that the pizzeria is no longer the main place for consuming pizza. According to data, 14 million Italians choose to prepare and enjoy round at home. A third of Italians (36%) choose beer when eating pizza.
Pizza and beer is a combination loved by Italians, and remains a classic night out with friends, but, due to the crisis and new lifestyles, consumption at home is growing. Until now, 58% of the pizza consumed in Italy is enjoyed at home and no longer in restaurants.
In short, the infallible recipe for happiness is: pizza and beer, or pizza and tantrum, as the Italians say.
