A selection of fascinating places in Italy to become a child again
Italy is a country that preserves dozens and dozens of wonders on every corner. With places that make us fall in love, and that remain engraved in the soul. However, there are places in Italy where it feels like you're a kid again.
And so today we want to take you on a journey to the fairytale places of our country and, some related to drawings, films and stories, others where the environment is truly surreal.
1 – Sasseto Forest

Let's start the journey through Italian fairy tales in the Sasseto forest, in the province of Viterbo.
A place so surreal, unique and where nature reigns supreme to such an extent that it was defined by the prestigious National Geographic like “Snow White Forest”.
2 – Ladyhawke Castle

Then we flew to the Abruzzo and more precisely to Rocca Calascio, in the province of L'Aquila. The atmosphere in these parts is really great thanks to the fact that several scenes from the fairy tale film ladyhawke (in Brazil, The Spell of Aquila), by Richard Donner with Rutger Hauer, Michelle Pfeiffer and Matthew Broderick were filmed here.
3 – San Galgano and the “Sword in the Stone”

No less important is the extraordinary Abbey of San Galgano in Tuscany, a wonderful unfinished work in which the “real” sword in stone is kept inside. A magnificent place to feel like a hero for a day.
4 – Savoy Castle and Cinderella

On the other hand, in the Aosta Valley, the “Cinderella castle” in Gressoney-Saint-Jean stands out for its incomparable beauty, which is actually called the Savoy castle. This place, however, really looks like Cinderella's house thanks to its elegance and refinement. A place to visit and experience a fairytale atmosphere.
5 – Ligurian Riviera

Certainly something out of a fairy tale, thanks to its grandeur and beauty, is the Ligurian Riviera. And, according to her own Pixar, a new film that will be called “Luca” is being set mainly around here.
6 - Collodi and Pinocchio

If you think about Italy and fairy tales, it is impossible not to refer to Collodi, in the province of Pistoia. In the end, "The Adventures of Pinocchio. Story of a puppet”Se passed by here, one of the most famous classics of children's literature of the world. It is no coincidence, in fact, that there is also a theme park here.
7 – Nymph Sermoneta and Norma

An enchanted place is certainly Jardim de Ninfa, in the municipality of Cisterna, in the province of Latina. This was where the medieval city of Nymph, of which the ruins and some restored buildings remain. In 2000 it was declared a naturalist monument.
8 – Civita di Bagnoregio

Even the Japanese decided to put some souls in Italy and this happened with Civita di Bagnoregio, in the province of Viterbo. Wonderful village located on a tuffaceous foothills and which was the inspirational muse of the film “Laputa – The Castle in the sky” by Hayao Miyazaki, the greatest living anime animator and screenwriter.
