Statale 51: the first smart highway in Italy

A first smart highway in Italy is already in operation. And the future of mobility, constantly evolving in the country, involves the enchanting Cortina d'Ampezzo.

A smart roads, Ou seja, roads with a high concentration of technology, and the State 51 of Alemagna. The stretch goes from Longarone to Cortina, a municipality in the province of Belluno.

It was inaugurated on the occasion of the World Ski Championship, organized by one of the most important ski resorts in Veneto.

In this section, cameras and sensors that monitor the flow of traffic for approximately 80 km 24 hours a day, processing information in real time. 

A smart road allows direct dialogue with cars equipped with autonomous connection. 

This is a first glimpse of the future: within a few years, in fact, the development of technology will lead to increasingly intelligent road solutions that will allow us to travel with greater Safety.

The project was executed by Anas (National Autonomous Road Company) in collaboration with Tecnositaf, technology company Turin.

The next stretches of smart roads implemented will be in Grande Raccordo Anulare from Rome, on the highway A2 and in several areas of the region of Sicilia, according to Anas.
