Even without evidence, former Italian minister denounced fraud
The leader of the opposition in Italy, senator Matteo Salvini, stated this Thursday (5) that the President of the United States, Donald Trump, is right to “check vote by vote” for the November 3 election.
Like his ally on the other side of the Atlantic, Salvini denounced alleged fraud in the investigation in the USA, but without presenting any evidence.
“Trump is right and is right to ask to check vote by vote. There are places where there are more votes than voters”, declared the senator in a live broadcast on Instagram, repeating the American president's tactic of launching accusations without evidence.
Salvini campaigned
Italy's Interior Minister between 2018 and 2019, and secretary of the far-right League party, Salvini never hid his preference for Trump and posted several photos on social media campaigning for the Republican.
“There will be surprises, you can wait. I trust that some surprises will arrive”, added Salvini. To be elected president of the United States, a candidate must obtain at least 270 of the 538 votes in the electoral college made up of representatives from the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
According to projections by the American press, Joe Biden already has at least 253 votes, but some outlets, such as Fox News, count 264 with a possible victory in Arizona. The Democrat still leads in Nevada (six votes) and has been reducing Trump's lead in Georgia (16) and Pennsylvania (20).
