List reveals the best companies to work for in Italy, and some are surprising.

The research was carried out by Great Place to Work ItalyThe study collected opinions from more than 210 thousand workers in 415 organizations across Italian territory.

The 75 award-winning companies recorded an average revenue increase of 20% per year. This rate surpasses the 1% growth recorded by Istat for the service and industry sectors.

Confidence and productivity

Employee confidence in award-winning companies is at an 85% level. The national average in Italy is 44%.

According to Alessandro Zollo, CEO of Great Place to Work Italia, active listening and trust generate financial stability. Organizational well-being has become a factor in competitiveness.

The Information Technology (IT) sector leads the list with 25,3% of companies. Biotechnology and pharmaceuticals follow with 14,6%, and financial services with 12%.

Geographical concentration

The distribution of the best companies shows a strong regional concentration. More than 72% of the headquarters are located in Lombardy and Lazio.

Eleven Italian regions have representatives in the ranking. Areas such as Sicily, Sardinia, and Veneto do not appear on the list of award-winning organizations.

Meritocracy rose to 73% among internal indicators. Employees highlight support among colleagues and the work atmosphere as the most positive aspects.

Leaders by category

In the large companies category, the Hilton hotel chain ranks first. It is followed by the pharmaceutical company AbbVie and TP.

Among mid-sized companies, Cisco leads the ranking. Bending Spoons and ConTe.it follow.

The “Great Place to Work Effect” demonstrates that these companies have superior market value. Their capitalization is up to three times greater than the average of the S&P 500 index.
