A Italy recorded this Wednesday (08) new encouraging numbers, especially a decrease in the daily number of deaths and patients in intensive care, due to the covid-19 epidemic.

The number of people cured reached 2.099, “a record” in 24 hours, highlighted Angelo Borrelli, head of civil protection.
The 542 new deaths registered this Wednesday, with a total of 17.669, represent a reduction compared to Tuesday, when 604 deaths were registered in 24 hours, and Monday (636).
The number of patients in ICUs, 3.693, continues to decrease for the fifth consecutive day and is now at the level of March 26, according to the balance released by civil protection.
The most affected region continues to be Lombardy, with more than half of Italian deaths, 9.722 and more than 53.000 cases, while the entire peninsula has so far recorded 139.422 cases.
Despite these encouraging signs, those responsible ask for caution and not to give up on the effort, respecting the rules of confinement and social distancing.
“The only weapon we have is social distancing and respecting the rules. We must not think that we have won the battle. The situation is and continues to be serious, we cannot underestimate it”, concluded the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza.
