Fear in Calliano: the large predator climbs onto a small terrace and then runs away

The video posted on Facebook by a councilor from small Calliano, a town 17 kilometers away from Trento, shows a bear climbing onto the balcony of a residential building. 

In the episode, which took place late on Tuesday night (05), the large predator reaches the terrace on the first floor and then, perhaps disturbed by the voices of residents terrified by the unexpected visit, runs away.

This is not the first time that a bear has appeared in northern Italy during this period of quarantine due to Covid-19.

In the Trentino-Alto Adige region, last month, a bear was spotted roaming the streets of Molveno.

Residents believe that the animal – very common in the region – was looking for food.

Since isolation began in the country, more animals have been observed, such as deer and foxes, which appear at night.
