Event will take place next Saturday. The objective is to surpass the current record of 266,9 meters in length
A team of Italian pastry chefs will try to enter the Guinness Book next Saturday (16) by making the “longest” tiramisù in the world. The expectation is that the dessert will surpass the current record of 266,9 meters in length.
The challenge will be held at the CityLife District Shopping Center from 14pm (local time), and will feature chefs from the Galbani food industry in collaboration with pastry chefs from the Teatro7|Lab Culinary School.
“We decided to organize a big event for Milan with the sweet most loved by Italians as the protagonist, tiramisù, launching the challenge for the Guinness World Record”, said Mauro Frantellizz, the company's Marketing Director. According to the executive, the attempt to make the longest tiramisù in the world will be “a celebration and an event of solidarity”.
As a result, any tiramisù that is not consumed will be distributed in several Milanese cafes that support those most in need.
Furthermore, Galbani, with support from Banco Alimentare, will donate all the ingredients to create another 15 portions of the famous Italian sweet in canteens in Lombardy, Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna.
Tiramisù is a dessert made with mascarpone, biscuits, coffee and cocoa. Last year, Italian Mirko Ricci, responsible for creating the largest sweet of its kind in the world, made a tiramisù 150 meters long.
