There were two deaths in Lombardy, the most affected region in the country, one in Lazio, three in Piedmont, one in Umbria and one in Liguria.
With today's data, the number of victims of Covid-19 reaches 34.716.
Another good piece of information for the day is that the number of people admitted to intensive care units fell below 100 for the first time, reaching 97 patients. Almost half of them are hospitalized in the Lombardy region (43), and the rest are in Lazio and Piedmont.
Active cases in the country – which exclude those cured and dead – are at 16.836.
The new infections registered in one day were 175, a drop compared to data from this Friday (26), when 259 were recorded. Lombardy also leads, with 77 new infections.
According to the Ministry of Health, which since the 25th took over the dissemination of information about the pandemic in Italy in place of Civil Defense, 240.136 people infected with Covid-19 have already been registered in the country. Of these, 188.584 are considered cured.
