The Belvedere Hotel was voted the second best in the world and the best in Italy and Europe
The Hotel Belvedere, in the Italian city of Riccione, in Emilia-Romagna, was elected as the second best in the world and the best in its country and in Europe, according to the travel website TripAdvisor.
First place in the Travelers' Choice Hotel Awards 2019 went to Tulemar Bungalows & Villa, in Costa Rica, and Viroth's Hotel, in Cambodia, won the bronze medal.
“This year, Italy has also reaffirmed the value of its hospitality offering and, with 164 award-winning structures, it ranks second in the world for the number of hotels and B&Bs that have received recognition, narrowly surpassed by the United States, which led with 165 structures,” said Valentina Quattro, TripAdvisor spokesperson in Italy.
This year's edition of the Travelers' Choice Hotel Awards also guaranteed Trentino-Alto Adige recognition as the most awarded Italian region, with 38 nominations. On the podium, as last year, Campania also appears, with 29, followed by Veneto, with 23. Tuscany won the title of Italian region with the highest number of international recognitions, with nine awards among the top 25 European and world awards. .
