The 75th edition of the Sanremo Festival begins on Tuesday night (11), with a list of 29 competitors that includes the Italian-Brazilian singer Gaia Gozzi, as well as the rapper Fedez and renowned names such as Achille Lauro, Elodie, Francesca Michielin, Francesco Gabbani and Giorgia, among others.
Each contestant will take to the stage at the Teatro Ariston to present the songs competing for the trophy at Italy's biggest music festival, starting with Gaia, with the track “Chiamo io chiami tu”.
The first night of the event will also feature a special appearance by Jovanotti, with a performance outside the theater, before taking to the main stage.
“He will sing the new music from his album 'Il Corpo Umano”, anticipates the artistic director and presenter of the Sanremo Festival, Carlo Conti, who will share the conduction of the event this Tuesday with Antonella Clerici and Gerry Scotti.
On the second night, the star will be Damiano David, lead singer of Maneskin and who recently released his first solo work.
But the party at the Ariston will also be attended by ice skating champion Carolina Kostner, as well as actors Francesco Del Gaudio and Alessandro Gervasi, stars of the film “Champagne”, in homage to the famous singer Peppino Di Capri, 85 years old.
Artists from the film “Follemente”, by Paolo Genovese, and the series “Belcanto”, by Carmine Elia, will also be present.
Also on Wednesday (12), the competition in the “Nuove Proposte” (“New Talents”, in free translation) category will begin, with Vale LP and Lil Jolie against Maria Tomba, while Settembre will face Alex Wyse.
“On Thursday [13], we will have Edoardo Bennato. I will have him sing 'Sono solo canzonette',” says Conti. British band Duran Duran will also take to the stage on the same day.
On Friday (14), the guest will be actor Paolo Kessisoglu. On Saturday (15), the last night of the competition, actress Vanessa Scalera, singer Antonello Venditti and football player Edoardo Bove will be at the final ceremony of the event. (HANDLE)
