Rome is full of places little visited by mass tourism, but absolutely wonderful
Rome is certainly one of the most beautiful cities on Earth, a place full of history, art, nature and incredible places that take your breath away.
It's impossible to know everything, because every little bit is a discovery, and that's why today we're going to talk about 10 unusual destinations in the capital of the world, destinations within the city that not even the Romans (some, of course) know.
Crypta dei Cappuccini, with the bones of 4 thousand friars
Our journey begins with Capuchin Crypt, inside the Church of Holy Mary Immaculate. Apparently it seems like a harmless and peaceful place. But inside there is a crypt decorated with the bones of more than 4 thousand friars, which welcomes the visitor with the phrase “What you are, we were; what we are you will be.” In other words, we are all equal.
Galleria Sciarra in the heart of Rome
Another relatively unknown place in Rome is the Sciarra Gallery. Although in recent years it seems to have aroused more interest and this does not surprise us. After all, it is a jewel of Art Nouveau hidden in the heart of Rome, in the vicinity of Via del Corso, not bairro de Trevi.

Casina delle Civette, like a fairy tale
Rome is a city full of wonderful parks, including the Villa Torlonia south of Nomentana. Inside there is a building that looks like it came out of a children's storybook: the Casino delle Civette, home of Prince Giovanni Torlonia Jr.

In the wonderful Aventine, where the lock is located from where you can see the dome of San Pietro and the beautiful Jardim das Laranjas with a lot of optical effect, is Church of Santa Sabina. One of the best and best preserved early Christian basilicas in Rome.

The murals of Tor Marancia
In the neighborhood of Via di Tor Marancia There are masterpieces of street art composed by 20 artists from different countries, created on the occasion of the Big City Life project, which envisaged the urban, cultural and social requalification that took place at the beginning of 2015.
The botanical garden and Japanese hanami
Another quite unknown place in Rome is its extraordinary botanical garden in Trastevere, which rises to the Janiculum. A wonderful garden that houses more than 3 thousand species of plants, including cherry trees that in spring offer the spectacle of hanami (traditional Japanese custom of enjoying the beauty of flowers at this season of the year).
Palazzo Spada and the game of perspective at the Borromini Gallery
A true pearl of Rome is the Sword Palace. In the courtyard there is a jewel that can shock any visitor: it is the Borromini Perspective Gallery, (in Italian, Galleria Prospettica del Borromini). An extraordinary work built in 1653, 9 meters long but appears to be 38 meters long. Borromini created it by putting all the rules of perspective into practice, with perfection.
Catholic Cemetery, extremely private
Another not very well-known place in Rome is the Acatholic cemetery in the Testaccio neighborhood. A place made of angelic statues, very suggestive, that catapult themselves into a particular reality, as if to demonstrate that there is life after death.
Coppedè, like in another dimension
We ended this trip in an unusual Rome in the neighborhood Coppedè. One of the most elegant and richest places in the city. In reality, it is not a real neighborhood, but a group of buildings and palaces with truly suggestive facades. The main entrance to the neighborhood is on the street side. Via Tagliamento, from where you can admire a fantastic bridge with a kind of huge “chandelier”. An area of the capital where it seems to have been catapulted into another reality.
