Italian capital has record congestion: 254 hours lost each year in traffic
Thinking of renting a car in Rome to enjoy the city? Forget it. The Italian capital is the second city in the world in terms of hours lost in traffic. This is revealed by a study from Inrix Global, a consultancy specializing in urban mobility, which analyzes 200 cities in 38 countries.
A shocking result: the Italian capital is in first place in Europe and second in the general ranking, with 254 hours lost in traffic each year, second only to Bogotá, with 272, according to a publication in the daily La Repubblica, this Monday. (20).
Along with Rome, Milan is also among the 10 cities in the world with the most hours lost by all citizens in transit. The capital of Lombardy, however, is seventh, with 226 hours. Third place went to Dublin, Ireland (246), ahead of Paris and Rostov-on-Don, Russia (237).
As incredible as it may seem, São Paulo is not the city with the most traffic in Latin America. The most chaotic cities in Brazilian traffic are, according to the study, Belo Horizonte and Rio de Janeiro.
