Bologna is in second place thanks to good governance.
Once again, the city of Milan was confirmed as the smartest in Italy, followed by Bologna, Venice and Florence, according to the ICItyRate 2016 survey, carried out by the PA Forum.
According to the research, 106 municipalities, 105 statistical indicators and seven thematic dimensions were analyzed, such as economy, well-being, environment, people, mobility, governance and legality.
“This year, more than last year, ICityRate will measure, along with the quality of urban life, the ability of cities to look at long-term goals, making choices and investments that focus on new drivers of growth,” he said Gianni Dominici, responsible for the research.
In addition to maintaining leadership in the ranking, Milan also increased the gap to second place, thanks to excellence in the economy, people and well-being. Vice Bologna won second place especially for its excellence in governance.
