A La Sapienza University of Rome is the best university in Italy according to the 2022-23 ranking of Center for World University Rankings (CWUR), a leading consultancy organization and publisher of the largest academic ranking of global universities.
The ranking, released last Friday (22), shows that La Sapienza occupies the 37th position at European level and the 113th position in the world among the 19.788 higher education institutions surveyed.
A Wisdom It is one of the oldest universities in the world. It was founded by Pope Boniface VIII in 1303.

CWUR ranks the world's universities based on criteria including quality of education, alumni employment, quality of faculty and research performance.
In the first three positions of the 2022-2023 ranking are the Harvard University first, followed by MIT in Boston and Stanford University.
In Italy, after Wisdom is the University of Padua in 164th place, the University of Milan (179) ea University of Bologna (181)
Italy has 66 universities in the global ranking. Brazil has 57 – USP, Unicamp and UFRJ are the first three.
