The University of Bologna has once again been elected the best in Italy among public institutions with more than 40 thousand students, while the Luigi Bocconi Commercial University, in Milan, won among private institutions with more than 10 thousand enrolled.
This is what the 2021 edition of the annual ranking released last Monday (19) by research institute Census.
The traditional University of Bologna It came in first place in its category (mega-universities), with 91,8 points (0,3 more than in 2020), just ahead of the universities of Padua (88,7) and Roma La Sapienza (85,5), which ousted Florence (85,0) from third place.
Considering only public institutions, the ranking also places Perugia universities (large) as leaders in their segments, with 93,3 points; Trento (averages), with 97,3; Camerino (small), with 98,2; and Milan (polytechnics), with 93,3.
Among the private ones, Bocconi had 96,2 points among large institutionsMeanwhile, the Guido Carli International Free University of Social Studies (Luiss) in Rome won as the best medium-sized university, with 94,2 points; the University of Bolzano, with 101 points, leads the ranking among small universities.
The survey is the main reference in university quality in Italy and also points out that there was a 4,4% growth in enrollments in the last academic year, despite the Covid-19 pandemic. The rate of university students among the 19-year-old population in the country reached 56,8%, with 65,7% among women and 48,5% among men. (ANSA).
