In order to combat and contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus, according to the draft decree, the regions of Lombardy, Piedmont and Calabria – currently considered red zones due to the high rate of infections – will be subject to a total lockdown for a period of 15 days.

“Restaurant activities (including bars, pubs, restaurants, ice cream shops) are suspended,” says the draft decree.

Only industries and schools up to sixth grade will remain open. Beauty clinics and hairdressing salons must remain closed.

No lockdown for essential services such as pharmacies and supermarkets, for example.

The measures come into force from Thursday.

Italy registered 353 deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health bulletin this Tuesday (3).
