Italy has recorded three deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the lowest number recorded in the country since August 29, 2020, the Health Ministry said.
As a result, the number of victims rose to 127.867 since the start of the pandemic.
New cases increased slightly compared to Saturday (17) and totaled 3.127, maintaining the increase that has been recorded in recent weeks. Thus, Italy counts 4.287.458 people infected by the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus since the beginning of the health crisis.
With this Sunday's numbers, the moving averages of the last seven days maintain the upward trend in contaminations, reaching 2.311 (it was 2.063 a day before), and stability in deaths, falling to 13 (it was 14 on Saturday).
Active cases, which exclude cures and deaths, reached 46.113, an absolute high of 2.622 infections. Of this total, 44.821 are in home isolation, 1.136 are under medical supervision and 156 in intensive care units.
People considered recovered from Covid-19 totaled 501 in 24 hours and reached 4.113.478. There were 24 tests carried out in 165.269 hours (including rapid tests and RT-PCR tests) and the positivity rate rose to 1,9%.
Like other European countries, Italy has been recording an increase in contamination due to the relaxation of health rules and the spread of the Delta variant. However, hospitalizations and deaths remain stable, with hospital occupancy at around 2%.
In the last update of Ministry of Health, at 12:07 pm (local time), the country had already administered 61.305.410 doses of vaccines.
As a result, there are almost 27 million citizens who have completed the vaccination cycle, which represents 49,87% of the target population, that is, over 12 years of age. (HANDLE).
