Italy's Health Minister Roberto Speranza signed a decree on Friday (14) extending restrictive measures for travelers who have been to Brazil.
Currently, the country only allows the entry of who have a fixed residence in Italy. Or even those who have spouses or children in the same condition.
Everyone must comply with a 14-day quarantine and present three negative tests for Covid-19: upon boarding, upon arrival (or up to 48 hours later) and after the quarantine period.
The published decree also confirms the first flexibility for the arrival of foreigners in the country in view of the European summer vacation period.
From May 16th, the entry of people who live in European Union countries or who are part of the a Schengen, from the United Kingdom and Israel will be released upon testing negative for the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus and without the need for quarantine.
In addition, flights will be expanded “Covid-tested“, that is, with passengers who are negative for Covid-19 or who have completed the vaccination cycle from other nations, such as Canada, Japan, the United Arab Emirates and the United States.
All rules come into force next Sunday.
Italy is taking several initiatives to try to inject money into the tourism and services sector, which has been hit hard by the pandemic since last year, because it managed to control the third wave of cases of the health crisis. (Loop)
