The Italian Embassy in Brasília has opened a selection process to appoint a new honorary vice-consul in Goiânia, with responsibilities in the states of Goiás and Tocantins. The candidate will serve under the direction of the embassy's consular chancellery.

Interested parties must express their interest by October 15, 2025, via email: [email protected].

The appointment will not be made through a competitive process. According to Article 47 of Decree No. 18 of the President of the Italian Republic (DPR), dated January 5, 1967, the position is conferred upon individuals, preferably of Italian citizenship, with a good reputation and who offer guarantees of efficient performance.

It is also recommended that candidates have sufficient command of the Italian language.

Voluntary role without employment relationship

The position is honorary and voluntary, with no employment relationship with the Italian Embassy or the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The honorary vice-consul works to defend Italian interests and assist Italian citizens within their jurisdiction.

The operating expenses of the consular office are the responsibility of the office holder, as provided for in article 72 of the same decree.

Another requirement is the candidate's residence in the city where the office will be based, in this case, Goiânia. (Photo: Depositphotos)
