Half of them are in São Paulo, followed by Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Minas Gerais and Bahia. . SUPER magazine put together the ideal round, defined based on the most requested flavors in restaurants across Brazil, in this pizza pie chart.
The data comes from the National Restaurant Association, Associação Pizzarias Unidas – for São Paulo, and 28 main restaurants in Porto Alegre, Salvador, Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte.

SÃO PAULO

São Paulo pizza – São Paulo is the only one where good mozzarella dominates the palate – although it is also the only one where pepperoni pizza does not contain cheese. And only in São Paulo do they prefer medium pasta.

PORTO ALEGRE

Porto Alegre pizza – Even when it comes to pizza, Gauchos like barbecue. Among the traditional orders there are flavors such as chicken heart and stroganoff.

RIO DE JANEIRO

Carioca pizza – Cariocas want sweetness. While the national average for sweet pizza is 5%, in Rio de Janeiro it reaches 15%. In some pizzerias the number goes up to 30%.
Exotics: Smoked ostrich sausage pizza and the unbelievable snack pizza to eat by the beach (mozzarella, pepperoni, ham, tenderloin, salami).
BELO HORIZONTE

Pizza from Belo Horizonte – Cheese and Minas Gerais are closely linked. Preferences in Belo Horizonte are diverse, but almost always include dairy products.

The Salvador pizza – You can't tell from the top 3, but right behind the traditional ones come more coastal flavors, such as shrimp, fish or seafood pizzas.
Exotics: Acarajé pizza (mozzarella, vatapá and shrimp) and shredded cod with coriander and eggs.
