Ranking of the 27 member states of the European Union shows the least flexible countries
Italy is the second country – out of a total of 31 – to implement more restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, according to data collected by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
Ahead of our country is only Ireland. Spain occupies the third position, and Portugal is the fifth country, according to the classification, which is based on information collected on July 1, 2020 in the 27 member states of the European Union, in the United Kingdom and, additionally, in three other countries that belong to the Schengen area, such as Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland.
Ireland was considered the most restrictive country, in turn, countries such as Iceland, Sweden, Germany, Norway and Denmark occupy the last places on the list, classified as the most flexible.
Os top 5 countries with the most restrictions, are at the top of the list due, above all, to the fact that schools were never reopened, as a measure to contain the pandemic.
The classification is based on six action focuses: education, closure of commerce and services, policies that encourage home office, confinement of citizens, limits on gatherings of people and use of masks in public spaces.
