Consulate General of Italy in Rio will bring an exhibition with tributes to Italian immigrants.
The charming terrace of the Italian Consulate General in Rio will open its doors for "Italianorio," an event that combines fashion, gastronomy, and art between October 18th and 29th. The program is part of the 16th edition of the Week of the Italian Language in the World, held simultaneously in various countries, and aims to showcase how Italians have contributed to the city's cultural formation.
Terraço Belvedere, at the consulate headquarters, also has a pop-up restaurant under the command of chef Silvio Podda, from the Casa do Sardo restaurant. The Italian presence will also be remembered in shows, lectures and workshops, in addition to an exhibition about ten Italian immigrants who made a difference in Brazilian lands.
In addition to photographs, the exhibition includes relics related to the honorees and an account of the history of each one, including Pasquale Segreto, a pioneering businessman in the cinema market in Brazil, Gianni Ratto, founder of Teatro dos Sete – alongside Fernanda Montenegro, Fernando Torres, Sérgio Britto and Ítalo Rossi -, and also Lanfranco Aldo Ricardo Vaselli Cortellini Rossi, the caricaturist Lan.
