Drivers in Rome Milan and other countries in Europe are among those that lose the most time in traffic. This is according to... INRIX Global Traffic Scorecard 2025, which measured the annual delay hours per driver in large urban centers.

Rome ranks fourth in the list, with an average of 76 hours lost per driver over the course of a year. Milan It appears in eighth place, with 67 hours. Both cities surpass capitals such as Brussels, Cologne, and Warsaw.

The survey places Dublin at the top of the list, with 95 hours of delay per driver, followed by London (91h) and Paris (90h).

The INRIX study, which analyzes traffic data globally, serves as a basis for urban mobility decisions. Experts point out that time lost in traffic directly impacts productivity, mental health, and the quality of life of the population.

New York adopts urban toll with environmental and social impact.

While European cities grapple with traffic congestion, New York has implemented a drastic measure to curb traffic in Manhattan. Since January 5, 2025, vehicles entering the area south of 60th Street have been subject to an urban toll. In the first six months, the concentration of PM2,5 particles fell by 22% in the tariff area, according to a study by the magazine. Another relevant indicator was the reduction in the number of vacant stores in the region, suggesting that urban mobility can directly influence the local economy.

The New York model continues to serve as a benchmark for other metropolises facing similar challenges.
