Commission put pressure
The issuance of the Electronic Identity Card Abroad is a victory for the Commission for Foreign and Constitutional Affairs, in Italian Parliament.
In June this year, deputies approved a resolution to demand that the Italian government also issue the CIE to Italians residing abroad. The deputy Italian-Brazilian Luiz Lorenzato, from Lega, was part of the commission.
Until then, the document was only issued to citizens residing in Italy and some European Union countries.
