The City Hall of Rome works on creating a “chatbox” – programs that simulate a conversation with users through artificial intelligence, along the lines of ChatGPT – to help Tourists and citizens of one of Italy’s most visited destinations.
“We are among the first in the world to work with artificial intelligence,” said the mayor of the “eternal city”, Roberto Gualtieri, from the center-left, on Monday (16) during a seminar on technology.
“To interact with citizens and tourists, we are working on a chatbox, which we will present soon. We hope it will become an important tool, even beyond tourist information,” added Gualtieri.
The mayor, however, did not give further details about the tool, which could be available for the 2025 Jubilee, when millions of Catholic faithful from around the world will visit Rome and the Vatican.
In 2023, the Italian capital received around 21 million tourists, an increase of 8% over 2019, the year of the previous record, and the trend is for an increase in 2024. (HANDLE)
