A new night train will connect Brussels to Milan starting September 9, 2026. The route will be operated by European sleeper and will include stops in strategic cities such as Cologne and Zurich.
The new line expands the company's network, increasing it from one to three routes in six months. The service aims to strengthen rail connections between northern and southern Europe.
Connections along the route
The route includes points with connections to other European cities.
In Brussels, there are connections to London. In Cologne, to Amsterdam and Berlin. In Zurich, access to regions of Switzerland and western Austria. Milan connections with Veneza, Florença e Rome.
The train arrives at the station. Porta Garibaldi, considered more central. Milano Centrale is two metro stops away.
Change of route
The original route was altered due to planned construction until 2027. The route through the Simplon Pass was discarded.
The new route will be via the Gotthard. The change includes stops such as Göschenen, as well as connections to Lugano and Como.
Schedules and frequency
The service will have departures three times a week in each direction.
From Brussels to Milan, departures are on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 17:56 PM, arriving at 11:30 AM.
From Milan to Brussels, departures are on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 17:30 PM, arriving at 11:10 AM.
Postponement of the launch
It was originally scheduled to begin in June 2026, but it has been postponed.
Among the reasons are railway works in Germany and the need for certification in Switzerland. The direct connection to Amsterdam has been postponed until 2027.

Sales began on March 17, 2026.
Tickets start at €29,99 for seats. Options with a couchette (single bed in a shared cabin) are also available. They start at €49,99.
The most comfortable categories start at €99,99. The option with breakfast included starts at €129,99.
The goal is to cater to different types of travelers, with options ranging from simple seats to more complete cabins.
