More than 500.000 companies in Italy employ foreign workers, according to data released by Unioncamere and by the Ministry of Labor.

The numbers show that foreigners are present in more than a third of the country's companies, equivalent to 34% of the total.

In total, around 2 million foreign workers are employed in the Italian market. They represent more than 13% of the workforce.

Demand for foreigners remains high.

The demand for foreign labor continues to grow.

In 2024, 23,4% of planned employment contracts by companies were for workers of other nationalities.

This number corresponds to more than 1,3 million expected entries into the job market.

The information is part of an online tool created by Unioncamere in partnership with the Ministry of Labor.

The platform presents data on the hiring profiles and needs of Italian companies.

Regions with a higher presence of foreigners

The presence of foreign workers varies between regions.

In terms of projected new hires, tourism also leads the way, with 290 jobs expected.
