Congressman Fabio Porta expressed his sorrow at the death of Franco Patrignani Ferracuti, aged 76, union leader of Cisl Marche, died after a long illness. The statement was released when announcing the death of the union leader, which occurred this Wednesday (18).
“Franco Patrignani is no longer with us. And this is the post I never wanted to have to write, such will be the void I will feel for a friend and comrade with whom I shared years of political and union struggles and, above all, a passion for democracy and for the large Italian community in Brazil,” wrote Porta.

Trajectory in trade unionism
Graduated in Sociology from University of UrbinoPatrignani began his career as an operator for the Unitary Federation of Metalworkers. Later, he assumed the position of zonal manager for Cisl in Senigallia.
Throughout the years, he held leadership positions. He was the provincial secretary of FILCA CISL in Ancona and responsible for the union training of the same federation. His work was marked by an international vision of labor and solidarity.
In 1997, he was elected provincial secretary of the Cisl in Macerata. In 2004, he joined the regional secretariat of Cisl Marche, where he contributed to the organization's growth.
International operations and ties to Brazil
Between 1985 and 1995, Patrignani worked in international cooperation with Iscos Cisl. He worked as a cooperator in Brazil and, later, as head of projects in Latin America and trade union training.
His connection to Brazil remained throughout his life. In 2009, he returned to the country. Between 2011 and 2021, he coordinated Inas Cisl, developing activities focused on assistance and cooperation.
Since 2021, he was president of Collaborate Italy-Brazil AssociationIn that role, he worked to promote dialogue between the two countries.
