In Italy, the film “Gladiator 2” follows the global trend and remains the box office leader for the second consecutive weekend in the country's cinemas, according to Cinetel's ranking.
However, Made in Italy filmographies compete with the biggest international hits of the moment.
So far, the sequel to the acclaimed 2000s blockbuster directed by Ridley Scott has grossed 2,12 million euros at the box office, with an average of 3,8 thousand euros (-43%), reaching close to 7 million euros in total. The second-placed film in the Belpaese is a national film: “Il ragazzo dai pantaloni rosa”. The film by Margherita Ferri has grossed 1,5 million euros (+7%), with an average of 2,8 thousand euros and a full-length of 5,4 million euros.
In third place, another international success, “Wicked”. The American fantasy film earned 1,4 million euros and an average of 4 thousand euros.
From fourth to sixth place, Italian and foreign films alternate for the best position: “Napoli – New York”, by Neapolitan Gabriele Salvatores, came ahead of “Juror #2”, by American Clint Eastwood.
Meanwhile, Paolo Costella's national comedy, “Una terapia di grupo”, came in sixth place. (HANDLE)
