The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) confirmed, this Sunday (15), the appointment of Gennaro Gattuso as the new coach of the national team. The official presentation is scheduled for Thursday, June 19th, in Rome.
Gattuso, a former coach of Milan, Napoli and Valencia, takes over the Azzurri after a series of disappointing results in international competitions. The mission is clear: to start a new cycle and restore the Italian national team's prominence.
Gabriele Gravina, president of FIGC, highlighted the choice: “Gattuso is a symbol of Italian football, blue is like a second skin for him. His motivation, professionalism and experience will be fundamental to face the national team's upcoming commitments in the best possible way”.
According to Gravina, the new coach accepted the challenge with total dedication and shares the FIGC’s project to strengthen Italian football. “The blue jersey has a strategic centrality,” said the director.
Gattuso, known for his combative style on the field and his energetic attitude on the sidelines, is beginning an important chapter in his coaching career. The expectation is that his leadership will inspire a new generation of players.
