Belo Horizonte will be the stage for History Festival “Italian-Brazilian Connections” between the days November 28 and 30, at the Palace of Arts. The event celebrates the 150 years of Italian immigration in Minas Gerais, highlighting the cultural, social and economic legacy left by immigrants in the state.

With a diverse and free program, the festival includes lectures, exhibitions, workshops, artistic presentations and gastronomy, offering the public an immersion in the rich Italian-Brazilian heritage.

Program packed with cultural attractions

Lectures

Experts will address topics such as:

  • The arrival of Italian immigrants in Minas;
  • Contributions to the local economy and industry;
  • Influence of Italian cuisine on Minas Gerais cuisine.

Exhibitions

Historical documents, photographs and works of art portray the journey of Italians in Minas Gerais, illustrating their integration and cultural legacy.

Interactive workshops

  • Italian cuisine: learn classic recipes from renowned chefs.
  • Italian language: introduction to the language with experienced teachers.
  • Craftsmanship: creations inspired by Italian tradition.

Artistic presentations

Dance groups and Italian music will showcase Italy’s folkloric and cultural richness.

A tribute to the Italian-Brazilian legacy

“The festival is a way of recognizing the influence of Italians in the formation of Minas Gerais, in addition to strengthening cultural ties between Brazil and Italy,” say the event organizers.

The initiative invites the entire community to immerse themselves in this historical and cultural celebration, reinforcing the importance of Italian immigration in the construction of Minas Gerais' identity.
